Maharaja: Vijay Sethupathi’s 50th Film crosses 100 Cr

Vijay Sethupathi, the lead actor in the recently released Tamil film Maharaja, has propelled the film into the 100-crore club at the box office, with a worldwide collection of Rs 101 crore. Maharaja, directed by Nithilan Saminathan and produced by Passion Studios, has achieved this significant milestone.

The producers revealed on social media that Maharaja, the Tamil movie featuring Vijay Sethupathi, has grossed Rs 100.80 crore globally. This box office success, directed by Nithilan Saminathan, known for his work on Kurangu Bommai, marks his second directorial venture. The earnings of Maharaja not only bring a breath of fresh air to Tamil cinema but also signify a turning point, especially in the wake of movies that failed to perform well financially. Produced by Passion Studios, Maharaja will be available on Netflix after its theatrical run. Nevertheless, the producers have not yet disclosed the release date on OTT platforms.

Apart from Vijay Sethupathi, the movie features Bharathiraja, Abhirami, Mamta Mohandas, Singampuli, Aruldoss, Munishkanth, Vinoth Sagar, Boys Manikandan, Kalki, and Sachana Namidass. Anurag Kashyap portrays the main antagonist in the movie. It is worth mentioning that Maharaja marks Vijay Sethupathi’s 50th film as a lead actor. Maharaja is a tale of revenge. The storyline follows a barber who reports that burglars have stolen a dustbin from his residence. However, there is more to the story than what meets the eye, as the barber seeks retribution for an unspeakable act.
