Love Me arrives on OTT without much noice

Love Me—If You Dare, the horror love drama that has recently made its debut on Amazon Prime Video, is a film that stands out for several reasons. Not only does it feature the talented Ashish Reddy and Vaishnavi Chaitanya of Baby fame, but it also marks the nephew of Dil Raju’s foray into the industry, adding to the intrigue surrounding the film.

The movie was released on the platform this Friday without any prior announcement, and it can now be streamed in Telugu with English subtitles. Despite not performing well in theaters, there is now excitement about whether it will engage viewers on OTT. Ravi Kishan, Simran Chowdhary, and Samyuktha deliver notable performances in the film produced by Harshith Reddy, Hanshitha Reddy, and Naga Mallidi. Love Me – If You Dare showcases the legendary cinematography of PC Sreeram and the musical talent of MM Keeravaani.

Unfortunately, Love Me, a film with an innovative concept, fell short due to its poor execution and ended up with a disappointing outcome. The movie tells the story of a YouTuber who sets out on a mission to confront an evil spirit that is responsible for the deaths of numerous individuals in an abandoned apartment. However, the audience felt that not all captivating ideas translate well onto the screen. The concept of a protagonist falling in love with a ghost is intriguing but lacks persuasiveness in its execution. The suspense and intrigue built up in the film’s first half diminish by the conclusion, especially after a major revelation. Once the final twist is revealed, everything seems illogical and foolish. Additionally, the portrayal of a crucial character, who is central to the story, lacks proper development. Directed by Arun Bhimavarapu and produced by Harshith Reddy, Hanshitha, and Naga Mallidi, the film features music composed by Oscar-winning MM Keeravani, with renowned cinematographer P.C. Sreeram behind the camera.
