Lokesh arrest case posted to December 28

AP CID had filed a petition in the ACB court in Vijayawada seeking its permission to arrest TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh in the Amaravati inner ring road alignment case. The CID said that Lokesh was threatening the police officials and others in the name of the red book.

The CID said that Lokesh had given interviews to a section of media where he tried to threaten the police officials and the witnesses in the case. His statements were clear indication of threat to the officials and witnesses, the CID said.

The CID said that Lokesh was showing a red book to the people stating that he had written down the names of the police officials who have acted against the TDP under the YSR Congress rule. Lokesh was openly displaying the red book in the public meetings threatening the police officials with severe action, the CID said.

The CID officials wanted the court to grant permission to arrest him in the case. When the court wanted the CID to arrest him directly, the CID told the court that they were seeking permission from the court in advance to arrest the leader.

The court then said that it would go through the interviews of Lokesh in the media before taking a call. The court asked the CID to provide the newspaper clippings and new channels video clippings of Lokesh interviews to the court to go through them.

The court then posted the case to December 28 for the next hearing.

The CID also filed a memo in the high court seeking the arrest of Lokesh in the case.
