L2 Empuraan shoot faces climatic challenges

Mohanlal’s L2 Empuraan, the second installment in the Lucifer franchise, commenced filming in October 2023. Director Prithviraj Sukumaran and his team are currently engrossed in shooting the Mohanlal starrer in Gujarat. The eagerly anticipated project, penned by Murali Gopy, is preparing for a lavish theatrical debut in 2025. Prithviraj recently shared a glimpse of the challenges encountered by the team on location through his official social media platforms.

The actor-director, currently occupied with shooting his third film, L2 Empuraan, in Gujarat, recently posted a photo on his official Instagram account. The image captured a sky filled with dark clouds and a rainbow. He appealed to the weather for cooperation in completing the filming process. It is clear from Prithviraj Sukumaran’s post that he is concerned about potential disruptions caused by unfavorable weather conditions. This post by the versatile artist is gaining significant attention on social media platforms. According to recent reports, Prithviraj Sukumaran and his team aim to conclude the extensive Gujarat shoot of L2 Empuraan by early August. Following a brief hiatus, the actor-director will commence filming for his next pan-Indian project, Salaar 2, alongside Telugu superstar Prabhas. Subsequently, Prithviraj is set to resume shooting for the following international schedule of the Mohanlal starrer in Abu Dhabi. Indrajith Sukumaran and Tovino Thomas are also anticipated to join the cast for the movie’s upcoming schedule.

The shooting for L2 Empuraan is projected to conclude by the end of September 2024. As a result, director Prithviraj Sukumaran and his team may begin the post-production process for the highly anticipated Mohanlal starrer in October. The producers are expected to unveil a major update on the project, most likely a new poster or a special preview video, during the upcoming Onam season. L2E, produced by Aashirvad Cinemas and Lyca Productions, is set to be released in theaters in the first quarter of 2025.
