While the 1st half was good at parts, The investigation scenes from 2 police officers to catch Japan irritates us. The twist that was shown in the interval has turned out to be a nightmare in the later half of the film as it dictates the journey of Karthi as Japan in no direction. Looks like the director just concentrated on the Protagonist character rather than putting his efforts in the story.
One of the major drawbacks of the film would be giving importance to the side characters more which could only do justification for that in the climax until then one would never understand why this track is going on which literally breaks the flow of film.
An irritating backstabbing story with a silly revenge under the supervision of horrible police investigation scenes messes it up despite Karthi’s efforts as Japan – The presentation of his backend story as part of mother sentiment only works but it was revealed in the climax. GV Prakash’s music was very impressive.
Overall Verdict: Usually there would be certain expectations on milestone projects especially when the protagonist has got the talent. Japan being Karthi 25th film will only give us disappointment but for those who like to witness only the Karthi performance, Then you are good to go for the attempt.
