Kanguva, the socio-fantasy drama of Surya, is all set to be released in theaters worldwide in another four weeks. The film also marks the return to the screens of the Soorarai Pottru actor after Etharkkum Thunnindavan (2022). The interesting thing is, before ET, the last theatrical release of Suriya was Kaappan (2019), and his subsequent films like Soorarai Pottru and Jai Bhim were released directly on OTT platforms. Coming back to Kanguva, the makers have started the film’s promotions, and as a part of the promotional interviews, the team revealed the character names of Suriya in the film.
Suriya will appear in a double role in the film, with one being a tribal leader in a period backdrop and another one being a modern-age man. So, Suriya will appear in the title role. Kanguva, a fearless warrior, leads a tribe in a medieval fantasy world. Another character’s name is Francis, who is a fun-loving man and has humorous traits, unlike the fierce Kanguva. Reportedly, the final runtime of the film will be around 2 hours and 25 minutes, and it is being said that the periodical portions will have more length (2 hours) and the modern portions will have a runtime of 25 minutes.
Directed by Siruthai Siva, Kanguva stars Disha Patani, Bobby Deol, Yogi Babu, and others in crucial roles. Devi Sri Prasad is the music composer of the film, while Studio Green, a production house that is considered the home banner of Suriya, has backed the film.
