Kalki 2898 AD, the futuristic action drama starring Prabhas was out on OTT after a fantastic run in the theaters. The audiences who enjoyed the film’s stunning visuals and action episodes eagerly waited for its digital debut.
Kalki was made available on OTT through Prime Video and Netflix. While the Hindi version is streaming on Netflix, the southern versions, including Telugu, are streaming on Prime Video. However, both the OTT platforms disappointed the viewers. The runtime of Kalki was trimmed on OTT. The original runtime of Kalki is 181 minutes i.e., 3 hours and 1 minute. However, the runtime on Prime Video and Netflix is 175 minutes, i.e., 2 hours of 55 minutes.
The audiences could not understand the logic behind this cut. Netizens wonder why would the OTT platforms change the scenes which were enjoyed by everyone in theaters. Generally, people complain about the runtime for theatrical releases but not for OTT. However, despite the disappointment from the viewers, Kalki has grabbed the top spot in the latest OTT releases.
