Prabhas and Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi fantasy film Kalki 2898 AD is consistently dominating the box office. The film showed a decent hold on Monday after collecting a whopping 500 Cr in its extended four-day weekend. Kalki 2898 AD has collected nearly 550 Crores for five days at the worldwide box office.
The Telugu version of the film showed a decent performance yesterday, Monday, following an extraordinary weekend. The Tamil version also received positive reports, but the real standout was the Hindi market, where the film’s hold was sensational. Retaining 80% of the opening day’s revenue, the film’s performance in this market is a point of pride. With such a strong performance, “Kalki 2898 AD” has the potential to surpass 300 crore net in Hindi alone in India.
The cumulative worldwide box office collection is expected to easily exceed 1000 crores, which would mark a phenomenal achievement. Producer Aswani Dutt is optimistic that the film could surpass this figure and reach somewhere between 1400 and 1500 crores globally, but Kalki should have a good long run to score such a huge target. If successful, Prabhas would be the only hero to achieve this milestone twice, with the Baahubali 2 and “Kalki 2898 AD.” Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan also has two 1000 crore grossers with “Pathaan” and “Jawaan.”
