After just nine days in theaters, this directorial masterpiece has set a new standard in global box office collections.
Trade experts say Kalki saw a double jump in its collections on Saturday. The film’s second weekend kicked off on Saturday, following Friday, which will be the tenth day since its release. The movie reportedly earned over 9 crore net in the Hindi market on Friday, showing a 100% increase. It is anticipated to reach 18 crore on Saturday. A similar trend is expected in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka, with a 100% increase. The Telugu States have also experienced the same trend, with Saturday collections doubling Friday’s. The film’s performance on Saturday is also significant in the overseas market. Kalki 2898 AD has already accumulated 700 crores globally and is swiftly approaching the 800 crore milestone.
Director Nag Ashwin recently updated the highly successful film Kalki 2898 AD, revealing that the shooting for the second installment is not yet 60% complete. He said that they had shot for 25-30 days around for the sequel and emphasized that the preparation for the sequel is a lengthy process, allowing ample time for the actors to return to the set for filming.
