Kajal Aggarwal’s investigative thriller Satyabhama hit theaters globally on June 7. Just three weeks after its theatrical release, the film made its digital debut on Amazon Prime Video yesterday. The film was released in theaters last month, and audiences and critics responded well. However, Satyabhama failed to convert that response into an impressive box-office performance. But it seems like the film has struck a chord in its OTT release.
Less than 24 hours after its OTT premiere, Satyabhama has already started dominating Amazon Prime Video trends. The movie is currently at the top of the list for Telugu content and is in second place among national trends on the OTT platform. Viewers who didn’t get a chance to see the film in theaters can now watch it on OTT. Kajal Aggarwal portrayed the character of a strong police officer in the movie Satyabhama. Prakash Raja and Naveen Chandra played significant roles alongside her. The screenplay was written by Sashi Tikka, known for Goodachari and Major, with debutant Suman Chikkala directing the film. Bobby Tikka and Srinivas Rao Takkalapelly co-produced the movie under the Aurum Arts banner.
The film tells the story of Satyabhama (Kajal), who is an Assistant Commissioner of Police, known for her sincerity, honesty, and dedication. When approached by Haseena, a victim of domestic violence at the hands of her husband Yedhu, Satyabhama takes on the case. Tragically, Haseena is murdered by her husband, prompting Satyabhama to launch a thorough investigation. As she delves deeper into the case, Haseena’s brother, Iqbal, goes missing, adding another layer of mystery to the situation. Satyabhama unravels a web of conspiracies surrounding the murder, leading her to the culprits. However, catching them proves to be challenging, as she faces various obstacles along the way. To uncover the truth behind the murder and witness how Satyabhama overcomes these challenges, one must watch the film.
