Alia Bhatt’s Jigra crashed at the box office on Monday. After having a relatively substandard opening weekend at the box office, the film saw a big drop in its collections. Starring Alia Bhatt in an action avatar, Jigra was released in theaters worldwide on October 11, 2024, and it was released alongside Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri’s Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video.
Jigra collected 17.5 crore net in the first three days. On the fourth day, October 14, the film was able to collect a mere 1.5 crore net, hinting at a huge downfall. For four days, the total net collection of the film will be 19 crore net, and it looks like the film will end below the 25 crore net if not for some rise in the numbers in the coming days. Though a section of audiences liked the performance of Alia in Jigra, the majority of the viewers felt that the film lacked the required emotional impact along with a solid buildup for the action parts.
Jigra features Alia as Satya and Vedang Raina as Anand. When Anand is imprisoned in a false drug case and is tortured in jail, Satya vows to save her brother, and she is ready to face any consequences to make her mission successful. Manoj Pahwa and Rahul Ravindran appeared in supporting roles. Directed by Vasan Bala, the film has been jointly produced by Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt under Eternal Sunshine Productions and Dharma Productions banners.
