Jigra, the latest action drama starring Alia Bhatt, is struggling to get a good jump at the box office. Directed by Vasan Bala and starring Vedang Raina as Alia’s brother, the film released in theaters worldwide on October 11, 2024, and it had a box office clash with Rajkummar Rao and Tirptii Dimri’s Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. Jigra received mostly mixed reviews, and the same is now reflected in its numbers.
According to the box office trackers, Jigra collected nearly 7 crore net in India on the second day. The film collected 5 crore on its first day, and the total net collections at the domestic box office for two days will be 12 crore. The film did receive better footfalls on Saturday, October 12, as it marked the Dussehra festival. However, given the film’s promotions and having a star like Alia Bhatt, the trade experts believe Jigra should have had more jump in its numbers. Now, all eyes are on how much this action drama can get today.
Jigra features Alia as Satya and Vedang Raina as Anand. Anand is imprisoned in a false drug case and is tortured in jail. Satya vows to save her brother, and she is ready to face any consequences to make her mission successful. Manoj Pahwa and Rahul Ravindran appeared in supporting roles. The film has been jointly produced by Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt under Eternal Sunshine Productions and Dharma Productions banners.
