James Gunn is set to kickstart a brand-new era for the Man of Steel and the DC Universe with his upcoming film, Superman, scheduled for release on July 11, 2025. The film boasts a star-studded cast that includes both classic Superman characters and those tied to a larger DC universe.
Leading the pack is David Corenswet, who will don the iconic red cape as Clark Kent/Kal-El, taking over the role from Henry Cavill. Corenswet is known for his work in “Hollywood,” “The Politician,” and “Pearl,” and this marks his first major blockbuster lead role.
Joining Corenswet is Rachel Brosnahan as the intrepid reporter and love interest, Lois Lane. Gunn has promised a portrayal that remains true to the character’s comic origins but with a added sense of humor, a departure from previous iterations.
Nicholas Hoult steps into the shoes of Superman’s archnemesis, Lex Luthor, promising a fresh take on the character. The film will also feature Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Guy Gardner, and Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, among others.
With such a talented cast and Gunn’s unique vision, Superman is poised to usher in a new era for the Man of Steel and the DC Universe. Stay tuned for more updates as production progresses.
