Saiju Kurup’s Jai Mahendran is all set to make its OTT debut. Sony LIV, one of the major digital platforms, is putting all efforts into getting as much South Indian content in its library, and this Malayalam web series is another addition to the platform’s content. At first, Jai Mahendran was supposed to be out this year’s February, but it got postponed due to unknown reasons.
According to the reps, Jai Mahendran has found its new release date, and the series will be available for streaming from October 11, 2024. Sony LIV announced the new release date on its social media accounts on September 6. Mammotty’s action film Turbo and Vineeth Sreenivasan’s directorial, Varshangalkku Shesham, are the other Malayalam films streaming on Sony LIV. Also, Asif Ali and Biju Menon’s most-awaited Thalavan will be made available for streaming on September 10.
Jai Mahendran’s screenplay has been written by Rahul Riji Nair, who is known for earlier films such as Keedam and Kho-Kho, and the series has been helmed by Srikanth Mohan. Jai Mahendran tells the story of a cunning officer who uses his contacts and people in power to get his jobs done. He tries to exploit the entire system for his benefits when he is thrown into a situation where he can lose his job. What results do Mahendran’s actions deliver is the remaining story.
