Jagan shuffles his MLAs for 2024 general election

Chief Minister and ruling YSR Congress president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is making key changes for the 2024 general elections. With an eye on winning the elections, the chief minister is shuffling his MLAs from one constituency to the other. He is also dropping some MLAs and giving tickets to winning horses.

The chief minister is said to be having two reports on his hands which speak about the winning chances of the candidates. He got the surveys done recently, after the Telangana Assembly elections, and is ready to go for the elections with those survey results. He is now making changes to the sitting MLA seats mostly based on those two survey reports.

The chief minister had made changes to 11 Assembly constituencies recently and shifted two ministers and one former minister to the better constituencies. He moved Ministers Adimulapu Suresh and Meruga Nagarjuna and former minister Mekathoti Suchariatha to different constituencies.

Similarly, the chief minister is also said to be planning to shift Ministers Usha Sri Charan, Pinepe Viswaroop, and G Jayaram, former minister Sankara Narayana to different constituencies. The chief minister held discussions with these ministers on Tuesday at the camp office and made his mind clear to them.

The chief minister is also said to have made up his mind to change the sitting MLAs from Ramachandrapuram, P Gannavaram, Razole, Amalapuram, Prathipadu, Jaggampet, and Pithapuram Assembly constituencies. He had decided to drop Chintalapudi and Polavaram MLAs and give tickets to the new faces.

Similarly, the MLAs from Ponnuru, Kaikaluru, Mydukuru, Madanapalle, Penugonda, Kalyanadurgam, Narasapuram, Razole, P Gannavaram, Gajuwaka have also met the chief minister at his camp office on Tuesday. It is said that these MLAs would not have tickets in the coming elections. However, the chief minister is said to have asked Razole MLA Rapaka Varaprasada Rao to contest from the Amalapuram Lok Sabha constituency.
