Nipun Dharmadhikar’s latest film, Ishq Vishk Rebound, a romantic comedy targeted towards the Gen-Z audience, was highly anticipated this month. Featuring a dedicated cast including Rohit Saraf, Pashmina Roshan, Jibraan Khan, and Naila Grrewal, the movie made its debut on June 21. However, the film received a mixed response from viewers upon its release and has struggled to perform well at the box office. Disappointingly, even on its third day, the movie only managed to earn a single-digit figure.
Box office trackers’ early estimates suggest that Ishq Vishk Rebound has maintained its earnings below Rs 2 crore on the third day at the box office. Starring Rohit Saraf and Pashmina Roshan, the film is said to have made Rs 1.40 crore. The overall box office collection for this movie is nearing Rs 3.55 crore. Ishq Vishk Rebound is being screened in theaters, but more information is needed regarding its digital debut. Typically, a movie becomes available on an OTT platform around 45 to 60 days after its theatrical release. Nevertheless, the specific OTT platform for this film has yet to be disclosed.
During the promotional event of Ishq Vishk Rebound, Rohit Saraf made it clear that the film, directed by Nipun Dharmadhikari, is not a remake of Shahid Kapoor’s Ishq Vishk. He stated, “It’s not a remake or sequel of ‘Ishq Vishk. The thing common between the two films is that they belong to the same franchise. But it’s a new story altogether, a love story about Gen Z.” For those unfamiliar, Ken Ghosh’s 2003 film Ishq Vishk marked Shahid Kapoor’s debut in Bollywood, where he portrayed the character of Rajiv Mathur. 21 years later, Shahid expressed his happiness at seeing a film from the same franchise and was impressed by the recreated version of the song from his movie in Ishq Vishk Rebound.
