Infighting increases in Krishna, NTR districts in TDP

The opposition TDP is suffering from infighting as the elections date is fast approaching. The party leaders are fighting among themselves and against the leadership. The leaders and their supporters are coming on to the street seeking tickets or holding protests for denying ticket to their leaders.

In Avanigadda Assembly segment of Krishna district, the supporters former minister Mandali Buddha Prasad, are holding protests against the denial of ticket to their leader. Buddha Prasad’s name was not listed in the first list of the TDP that was released early this week.

It is said that the constituency is being given to the Jana Sena in alliance. The TDP leaders here are strongly opposing the party’s decision to leave the seat to the Jana Sena. Buddha Prasad’s supporters and the TDP cadre are not ready to leave the seat and extend support to the Jana Sena. They are holding protests all over the constituency.

In Pedana Assembly constituency, TDP senior leader Buragadda Vedavyas, said that he would contest the seat even if it is given to the Jana Sena. Vedavyas and his supporters are not willing to leave the seat to Jana Sena. They say that the Jana Sena has no support in the constituency and its claim for the seat is unjust.

At Mylavaram constituency in NTR district, the supporters of former minister Devineni Umahaneswara Rao are holding protests against denaial of the seat to their leader. The seat is proposed to be given to sitting YSR Congress MLA Vasantha Venkata Krishna Prasad, who is likely to join the TDP in the next one week. The TDP had reserved the seat for Krishna Prasad, while Umamaheswara Rao’s supporters are holding protests.

The situation is not different in Penamaluru where the party plans to send Devineni Umamaheswara Rao. The supporters of former MLA Bode Prasad are holding protests in the constituency.

They demand that the seat be given to Bode Prasad and not anyone.

The TDP leaders in Vijayawada West Assembly constituency are up in arms against the party leadership. The party had proposed to leave the seat to Jana Sena. TDP senior leader and former MLC Buddha Venkanna held two meetings with his supporters in the constituency and demanded that ticket be given to him. The other day, he held another meeting and said that he would be loyal to Chandrababu Naidu. However, he did not say that he would support the Jana Sena if ticket is given.
