Chiranjeevi’s iconic film Indra, re-released on his birthday, August 22nd, did not surpass the record set by Mahesh Babu’s Murari re-release. However, it certainly fared well, with fans and netizens enjoying the classic film back on the big screen.
The craze for re-releases in Tollywood remains remarkably high, with audiences seemingly more interested in nostalgic moments than in current films that are not meeting their tastes.
One of the highlights of the Indra re-release was the massive cutout of Chiranjeevi placed at Sudarshan 35 MM. Alongside Chiranjeevi’s cutout, fans also set up a cutout of Teja Sajja, who played a pivotal role as a child artist in Indra. During the showings, fans cheered and danced, and some theaters even saw fans splashing water during the rainy song “Gallu Gallu” from the film.
