Indian 2 was released in cinemas on Friday, July 12, and left numerous fans feeling let down. Starring Kamal Haasan in the main role, the movie serves as a follow-up to the 1996 film Indian, helmed by Shankar. Despite Kamal and Shankar’s reunion for the sequel, it failed to recreate the same enchantment on screen. The film’s performance at the box office remains average, as it minted 90 Crores Gross at the worldwide box office in two days.
According to the trade circles, Indian 2 garnered around Rs 55 crore gross on its first day in all languages. The movie was released in Hindi as Hindustani 2 and in Telugu as Bharateeyudu 2. On the second day, the film collected Rs 35 crore gross in all languages. The film still has a long way to go before it can be considered a hit considering the business done. Indian 2 garnered mixed reactions from viewers and reviewers, with opinions varying from mixed to unfavorable. Kamal Haasan is back as the legendary character Senapathy, who transforms from a freedom fighter to a vigilante battling corruption. The movie is supported by the esteemed Lyca Productions and boasts music by the talented Anirudh Ravichander. In addition to Haasan, the film features a stellar cast including actors Siddharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Samuthirakani, Vivekh, Bobby Simha, SJ Suryah, and more, all of whom have significant roles in the production.
