Indian 2, the second part of Shankar and Kamal Haasan’s Indian (1997), was released on OTT yesterday, August 9, and the film opened to a severe critical response. It is widely known that the film was a big disaster at the box office. But no one expected Indian 2 to receive such a pathetic response and trolls after its digital release.
The netizens have mercilessly trolled almost every scene of Indian 2. On Twitter, numerous scenes from the film are being trolled. Especially, the introduction scene of Siddharth in the film is being heavily trolled because he introduces himself to police officers by telling them he is a social media user. The online users are laughing at the scene by stating that being a social media user is not any government job. Also, the action scenes involving Senapathy, played by Kamal Haasan, are also receiving many trolls. Especially, the climax chase between Kamal Haasan and Bobby Simha got the most trolls. Shankar fans expressed their massive disappointment as they felt very bad that their favorite director made such a clownery film with cringe content.
Even the music by Anirudh Ravichander also got a negative response, as the majority of audiences felt the music (songs, background score) was not at all good. Apart from Kamal Haasan, Indian 2 also features Siddharth, SJ Suryah, Bobby Simha, Kalidas Jayaram, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Jagan, Samuthirakani, and others.
