The highly successful franchise ‘Housefull’ is preparing to release its fifth installment shortly. The series, which has previously seen four films, is renowned for featuring numerous prominent figures from the film industry in each installment. As anticipation builds for the fifth film, it continues to attract attention with the announcement of several notable cast members. The most recent update indicates that Fardeen Khan has joined the cast of this Akshay Kumar-led project.
Housefull 5 is presently in the pre-production phase, and according to various reports, filming is expected to commence at the end of August. Following the inclusion of Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, and Nana Patekar, the cast has expanded with the addition of Fardeen Khan, who will join Akshay Kumar. This project also signifies a reunion of Akshay, Fardeen, and producer Sajid Nadiadwala after a gap of over 17 years, as their last collaboration was for the film Heyy Babyy. An insider has revealed that Fardeen Khan is set to take on an enjoyable role, expressing enthusiasm about collaborating once more with Akshay Kumar following their upcoming film, Khel Khel Mein. Several actors, including Arjun Rampal, were considered for this part, but Fardeen Khan is poised to make his debut in the Housefull franchise. The report indicates that the casting process for the film’s female leads is currently in progress, with the producers aiming to secure some of the leading actresses from the mainstream industry. Regarding the film’s storyline, the source revealed to the portal, “It is a comic thriller featuring a scene that creates chaos aboard a cruise. The intention is to present a fresh take on comedy with Housefull 5.”
The initial two films of the franchise, released in 2010 and 2012, were helmed by Sajid Khan. The first installment, Housefull, featured a cast that included Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Arjun Rampal, Lara Dutta, Deepika Padukone, and Jiah Khan. The sequel, Housefull 2, showcased an ensemble that comprised Akshay Kumar, Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty, Asin, John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez, Riteish Deshmukh, Shreyas Talpade, Zareen Khan, Chunky Panday, Shazahn Padamsee, and Boman Irani. The third film, Housefull 3, was directed by Sajid-Farhad and starred Abhishek Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Lisa Haydon, Chunky Pandey, and Jackie Shroff. The fourth installment featured Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde, and Kriti Kharbanda under the direction of Farhad Samji.
