The makers of the film have announced on social media that Rebel, the Tamil film featuring GV Prakash in the lead role, is now accessible for streaming on Prime Video. Additionally, the film marks the Tamil debut of Mamitha Baiju, known for her role in Premalu.
Rebel, directed by newcomer Nikesh RS, premiered in cinemas on March 22. Unlike most films, which take a month or longer to become available for streaming, Rebel can now be streamed on Prime Video just two weeks after its theatrical release. The movie features GV Prakash in the main role and Mamitha Baiju as the female lead.
Rebel is a historical action film that unfolds in the scenic setting of Munnar, depicting students’ journey to Palakkad in pursuit of quality education. Nevertheless, the campus becomes a battleground for clashes between Tamil and Malayali students. The movie delves into the realm of student politics, drawing inspiration from real-life incidents. Upon its release, Rebel received a variety of reviews. Produced by KE Gnanavelraja for Studio Green, the film features GV Prakash’s music and Arun Radhakrishnan’s cinematography. Vetre Krishnan handled editing. Addition to the main cast includes Venkitesh VP, Shalu Rahim, Karunas, Adhithya Baskar, Kalloori Vinoth, and Subramaniya Siva, among others. In addition, GV Prakash is composing music for several highly anticipated projects, including Dhanush’s directorial venture Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam, the upcoming film Thangalaan starring Vikram, and Chiyaan 62. Furthermore, he is involved in the music composition for Amaran, featuring Sivakarthikeyan, and is also a part of Suriya and Sudha Kongara’s collaborative project, Suriya 43.
