Elections Effect: The Sabarmati Report’s Release Gets Postponed

It is widely known that the release dates of several films, such as Kalki 2898 AD and Devara, have been affected by the General Elections in India. Interestingly, a politically-driven film like Prathinidhi 2 has also faced censorship issues. Additionally, a Hindi film centered around a vital incident that had previously caused a stir across India has now been restricted.

The highly awaited premiere of the political drama The Sabarmati Report, starring Vikrant Massey and Raashii Khanna, has been delayed. It joins the ranks of films impacted by the current election period. Initially scheduled for a May 3, 2024 debut, the movie will now be released on August 2, 2024, according to an announcement made by Vikrant Massey on his Instagram account.

Directed by Ranjan Chandel, the film ‘The Sabarmati Report’ seeks to reveal the truth surrounding the tragic Sabarmati Express incident, which has been veiled in secrecy for more than twenty years. This investigation has deeply impacted the entire nation of India for a decade. Despite having been submitted for censor certification, a suggestion to reconsider the release date prompted the final decision to reschedule it for August 2, 2024. There is speculation that upon its release, “The Sabarmati Report” will surpass the success of “The Kashmiri Files”.
