Tamil movie enthusiasts were thrilled upon learning that actor Dhruv Vikram would collaborate with director Mari Selvaraj for a film called Bison. This sports drama, centered around kabaddi, will feature actor Anupama Parameswaran as the female lead. Recently, the production team shared an exciting update—the first schedule of shooting has been successfully wrapped up. Stay tuned for additional information on this project.
Dhruv Vikram’s first collaboration with Mari Selvaraj is Bison. The film’s first schedule has recently been completed, as announced by the producers. Bison will be a sports drama featuring the protagonist as a kabaddi player. Although initial reports suggested that the film would be a biopic of Manathi Ganesan, the director clarified that Bison would be an entirely fictional film. Anupama Parameswaran, who was last seen in Tamil in Jayam Ravi’s Siren, will play the female lead in Bison. In addition to her, the film will also feature Lal, Pasupathy, Kalaiyarasan, Rajisha Vijayan, Hari Krishnan, Azhagam Perumal, and Aruvi Madhan. Applause Entertainment and Pa Ranjith’s Neelam Productions are producing the film. This marks the second collaboration between Ranjith and Mari Selvaraj after Pariyerum Perumal.
Nivas K Prasanna will compose Bison’s music in his first collaboration with Mari Selvaraj. It is known that Santhosh Narayanan is a regular collaborator of the director, and speculations arose that the falling out between Santhosh and Pa Ranjith has caused this. However, Mari Selvaraj cleared the air and said that he wanted a fresh voice for the film and, hence, went with Nivas. Ezhil Arasu will be the cinematographer for Bison, and Sakthikumar will be the editor. A release date for Bison is yet to be announced. Meanwhile, Mari Selvaraj last directed Maamannan. The filmmaker also has Vaazhai, which is set to get a release date soon.
