Coolie, the upcoming action film, brings Superstar Rajinikanth and Director Lokesh Kanagaraj together for the first time. Reportedly, Rajini will appear as a Grey-shaded character in the movie, produced by Sun Pictures. Coolie’s filming started last month. If the inside reports are to be believed, the current shooting schedule of Coolie will be wrapped up soon. Thereafter, Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj will move to Vizag for the next schedule.
Rajinikanth and director Lokesh Kanagaraj are currently busy with the second schedule of the mass action film, in Hyderabad. The inside reports suggest the unit will finish the ongoing schedule on Sunday, August 11, 2024. After wrapping up the Hyderabad schedule, the team will reportedly take a brief break, before resuming the next schedule. So Coolie’s shooting will start rolling in Vizag, within a few days. It is being reported that Lokesh will shoot the most important portions of the Rajinikanth starrer, in this schedule. Subsequently, the team will move to Hyderabad, and Chennai for the penultimate and ultimate schedules of the film.
As mentioned above, Rajinikanth will appear in a never-seen-before role in Coolie. Recently, there have been massive rumors that Nagarjuna Akkineni was approached to play the lead antagonist in Coolie, and he turned down the offer. However, there is no official confirmation of this news. Sathyaraj, Shobana, and Shruti Haasan will show up in supporting roles in the film, along with Manjummel Boys actor, Soubin Shahir, who will make his Tamil debut with this film. Anirudh Ravichander will compose the songs and original score. Girish Gangadharan is the director of photography. Philomin Raj handles the editing. Coolie, which is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the prestigious banner Sun Pictures, is expected to hit the theaters during 2025 Summer.
