Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is presently collaborating with Rajinikanth in the film Coolie, shared a photograph on Wednesday featuring himself and Rajinikanth. In the image, Rajinikanth can be seen donning his Coolie appearance while smiling as Lokesh captures the moment in front of a mirror. The esteemed actor is portrayed with a salt-and-pepper look, wearing a black shirt and sporting sunglasses. Lokesh Kanagaraj mentioned that the movie is scheduled to start filming in July. This marks the first collaboration between Lokesh and Rajinikanth for the film Coolie, produced by Sun Pictures. Anirudh Ravichander, a frequent collaborator of Lokesh, will be composing the music. While the rest of the cast has not been officially announced, there are rumors that Sathyaraj and Shobana will play important roles in the movie. Girish Gangadharan will be the cinematographer, reuniting with director Lokesh, and Philomin Raj will oversee editing.

Coolie’s release date has not been announced yet. It is anticipated that the movie will be screened in theaters in 2025. It is also highly improbable that Coolie will be included in the LCU, which consists of Vikram, Kaithi, and Leo. According to reports, Rajinikanth is set to portray a distinctive character with negative traits in Coolie. In the meantime, Rajinikanth’s next appearance will be in Vettaiyan, directed by filmmaker TJ Gnanavel. The film, supported by Lyca Productions, is expected to be released in October.
