Story:
The film’s story is set in a village called Purushothapalli, West Godavari. Committee Kurrollu’s narrative focuses on the important events of lifes of childhood friends, Shiva, Surya,Subbu, WIlliam, Peddodu and others.
Performances:
Sandeep Saroj, Yaswanth Pendyala, Eshwar Rachiraju, Trinadh Varma, Prasad Behara gave natural performances while Manikanta Parasu, Lokesh Kumar Parimi, Shyam Kalyan, Raghuvaran, Shiva Kumar Matta, Akshay Srinivas, Raadhya, Tejaswi Rao, Teena Sravya, Vishika, Shanmukhi Nagumanthri also gave good support with their believable acting. Sai Kumar, Kancharapalem Kishore, and Goparaju Ramana were perfect.
Analysis:
Committe Kurrollu is produced by Niharika Konidela and its cast consists of no stars and mostly unknown faces. The film’s main strength lies in its honesty in telling the story. The film does not have much solid storyline, but what makes the difference is the screenplay and technical efficiency. The director Yadhu Vamsi was successful in handling the emotions and he also extracted best output from the cast and technical departments. However he could have taken more care regarding the totality of the movie.
Positives:
Apart from performances, Anudeep Dev’s music acts as the main plus point of the fim. The songs and background score set the right tone from the starting scene itself and continue the same flow till the end. All the Childhood scenes came out very well along with the scenes between friends after they enter the adolescent age. The interval episode and the emotional scenes in the second half provide the required impact.
Negatives:
There is a bit of a convenient feel at a few places in the movie. The sudden change in a key character’s behaviour could have been shown more effectively. Also the election episode during the final 20 minutes falls flat as it was predictable.
Rating: 3/5
Last Line: Committee Kurrollu: A Neatly Done Youthful Drama
