According to sources and online chatter, Thangalaan is anticipated to premiere in cinemas during the month of August. Additionally, there is a rumor that Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2, initially set to be released on August 15 in celebration of Independence Day, will be delayed to a later date. This speculation has fueled further discussions that Thangalaan might take the spot for the August 15 release. Nevertheless, the production team has not officially announced the film’s release date.
Filmmaker Pa Ranjith has written and directed the film Thangalaan, marking his first collaboration with the actor. This period film is set in the backdrop of the Kolar Gold Fields and delves into the origins of the place. Jio Studios, Studio Green, and Neelam Productions have come together to produce the film, initially slated for a January release but postponed. Alongside Vikram, the cast includes Parvathy Thiruvottu, Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathy, and others. The music for Thangalaan is composed by GV Prakash Kumar, while Netflix has acquired the post-theatrical rights. The film will be released in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi languages. Co-written by Tamil Praba, Kishor Kumar handles the cinematography, and Selva RK does the editing.
