Chef Chidambara, the comedy thriller starring Aniruddha Jatkar, has recently announced its OTT partner for overseas streaming. The film, directed by M Anand Raj, is now available on Amazon Prime Video, but only for viewers in the UK and USA. This delayed release pattern on the platform is not uncommon for recent Kannada films. On July 18, it was reported that the film had started streaming in certain locations, and as of last night, July 24, it is finally accessible to audiences in India.
Chef Chidambara features Aniruddha as the main character, a renowned chef whose financial inexperience jeopardizes his family’s beachside restaurant of being taken over by a loan shark, Avinash (KS Sridhar). In a desperate attempt to save the restaurant, Chidambara agrees to assist Avinash’s wife, Mona (Nidhi Subbaiah), with a blackmail situation involving a former romantic partner. Chidambara is challenged when he is asked to retrieve a phone containing incriminating evidence of a relationship in exchange for important documents. However, things take a turn for the worse when the individual ends up dead in Chidambara’s residence. The film revolves around Chidambara’s efforts to navigate this predicament, all while being pursued by a corrupt police officer. The film crew has stated that the storyline of Chef Chidambara draws inspiration from a true story originating in Sri Lanka.
The movie features Sharath Lohithashwa, Shivamani, and Rachel David in significant roles. Ritvik Muralidhar, who also appeared as an actor in Baang, composed the music. Shree Ganesh Parashuram, the director of Baang, penned the dialogues and screenplay. Chef Chidambara is a refreshing watch with a runtime of just ninety minutes.
