Manjummel Boys, the recent theatrical release in Malayalam cinema, has emerged as the highest-grossing film ever. With a staggering box office collection of around Rs 240 crores, it has set a new record in the Mallu cinema space. This achievement marks a significant milestone as it is the first Malayalam film to achieve such tremendous success. However, the film’s gigantic success has been overshadowed by a cheating case filed against the producers, Soubin Shahir, Babu Shahir, and Shane Antony, by a man named Siraj Valiyatara.
According to Siraj’s complaint, the producers had taken Rs 7 crore from him, promising him a 40% share in the film’s profits. However, they failed to fulfill their promise of sharing the profits and did not return the initial investment of Rs 7 crore. The case was brought before a Kerala court, which thoroughly examined the evidence and subsequently ordered the filing of a cheating case against the producers.
The fact that the producers are facing charges of cheating, despite the film’s massive success, has left everyone surprised. The outcome of the investigation and the verdict against the makers of this blockbuster film remains to be seen.
