Former minister Mandali Buddha Prasad on Saturday expressed serious concern over the non-inclusion of his name in the TDP’s first list. The party had announced the list of 94 candidates for the coming elections.
TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan together have announced their candidates. While Naidu announced the names of 94 MLA candidates, Pawan Kalyan announced five candidates.
Buddha Prasad took strong exception to the party ignoring his name in the first list. He said he had been loyal to the party from the beginning and wondered why the party ignored him. He said that the party would have tough time ahead if his name is not included.
He also warned the party of serious revolt within the party if the seat is given to the Jana Sena in alliance. He said that there has been talk doing rounds that the seat would be given to the Jana Sena. If that happens, the TDP and the Jana Sena would lose the seat, he said and wanted the leadership to be cautious while allotting the seats to the Jana Sena.
Buddha Prasad, who quit the Congress in 2014 joined the TDP. He was a minister in the YSR cabinet in the Congress government. After joining the TDP, he became the deputy speaker in the Assembly from 2014 to 2019.
