Roshan, the son of Suma and Rajeev Kanakala, debuted in the film industry with the romantic drama Bubblegum. Unfortunately, the film did not receive a positive response from the audience when it was released in theaters on December 29th. It received poor reviews and was considered a failure at the box office. However, the film has now made its digital premiere.
Famous Telugu OTT Platform Aha has acquired the digital rights of Bubblegum and is now available for streaming online. Directed by Ravikanth Perepu, who is known for his work in Kshanam and Krishna and His Leela, the film has Roshan Kanakala and Manasa Chowdhary in the lead roles along with Harshavarshan, Anu Haasan, Chaitanya Jonnalagadda, Bindu Chandramouli, Harsha Chemudu, Kiran Macha and others in crucial roles.
Although the film was primarily targeted towards the youth, it fell short due to forced emotions and a dragged-out second half with repetitive scenes. However, a few moments and a couple of songs resonated well with the audience. How the online audience will respond to this romantic drama remains to be seen.
Bubblegum Movie’s Plot:
Adhi, also known as Sai Aditya (Roshan Kanakala), is a middle-class guy aspiring to become a DJ. His path crosses with Jahnavi (Manasa Chaudhary), a girl from a wealthy background, and they soon find themselves falling in love. However, their romantic journey turns unexpectedly when a specific incident occurs, causing Jahnavi to humiliate Adhi publicly. The film delves into the aftermath of this incident, showing us whether they chose to separate or reconcile their differences.
