Trisha Krishnan, a prominent figure in the southern film industry, has ventured into the Telugu OTT space with the SonyLiv series Brinda. Regrettably, the series’ production has been ongoing for the past two years. However, the series is now set for an imminent release and is scheduled to premiere on August 2, 2024, exclusively on Sony Liv.
In the latest development, the show’s trailer was unveiled recently. It showcases Trisha in a role that not only highlights her acting prowess but also presents a unique departure from her usual glamorous avatars. This time, she portrays a serious cop character on an OTT platform, marking her debut as a police officer, playing the role of a Sub-Inspector in a modest police station in Andhra Pradesh. The trailer commences with Trisha facing suspension from her position due to her failure to solve a murder case. Transitioning to a flashback, the series illustrates the challenges faced by a vulnerable police officer portrayed by Trisha in her profession, and her eventual success in apprehending the criminal forms the core narrative of the series.
Surya Manoj Vangala is the writer and director of the series, which features Indrajith Sukumaran, Jaya Prakash, Aamani, Ravindra Vijay, Anand Sami, and Rakendu Mouli in important roles. The captivating visuals, intense background music, and thrilling moments will keep you engaged. Trisha’s performance truly shines in the trailer, stealing the spotlight. Her role is highly performance-driven, and she exudes intensity in both her appearance and acting. Adding Advertising LLP is the production company responsible for this series, with the screenplay written by Surya Manoj Vangala and Padmavathi Malladi. Dinesh K Babu’s cinematography and the production design highlighting the murder case are particularly noteworthy. Brinda will be accessible for streaming in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Bengali, and Hindi.
