Boney Kapoor has exciting updates for fans of the movie Mr. India. While promoting his upcoming film Maidaan, the producer mentioned that he is considering a sequel despite challenges and is already in discussions with various collaborators. He also hinted that more details about the follow-up to the iconic Anil Kapoor-Sridevi film will be revealed to fans in the near future.
For years, there have been ongoing discussions on the internet regarding the possibility of a sequel to the highly praised film Mr. India. Periodically, updates emerge regarding the progress of the movie. However, the most recent update comes directly from the film’s producer, Boney Kapoor. During a recent conversation, Boney Kapoor disclosed that he remains determined to create a sequel to Mr. India. He also mentioned that his team members did not favor the sequel due to the significant number of deaths of key actors, such as his wife, Sridevi, who portrayed the female protagonist in the 1987 superhero science fiction movie. The legendary villain Mogambo (Amrish Puri) has also passed away.
Boney Kapoor informed that because of the absence of key members like Sridevi, Amrish Puri, Satish Kaushik, and Shekhar Kapur, most of his crew members are hesitant about attempting Mr. India 2. However, he personally feels that the idea of Mr. India 2 is still present in his mind. Reports indicate that Boney Kapoor and Zee Studios will support the upcoming Mr. India sequel. Boney Kapoor mentioned during the discussion that numerous offers have been coming in for the sequel. He even hinted at a significant offer that has been made, with more details to be unveiled within the next year or two. “A studio has presented us with a substantial offer and assured us that there are no budget constraints. Therefore, Zee Studio, the said studio, and I will collaborate on this project. Stay tuned for further updates on Mr. India 2 in the coming years,” Boney elaborated.
