Following the success of Premalu, Aha has secured the rights to numerous South Indian films. The next title to be featured is Birthmark, a Tamil film scheduled for release on February 23, 2024. This social drama, crafted by writer and director Vikram Shreedharan, will be available for streaming on Aha starting August 8, 2024.
It has come to our attention that Aha, in its commitment to providing diverse and engaging content, has acquired the rights to the film Birthmark at a minimal cost and has included it in its collection. The film features Shabeer Kallarakkal and Mirnaa Menon in the principal roles. Produced by Vikram Shreedharan and Sriram Sivaraman under the Sapiens Entertainment label, Birthmark did not achieve commercial success at the box office, and there was not much interest from the OTT platforms in buying the digital rights. Nevertheless, Aha has provided Telugu dubbing for the film and is expected to retain the edited versions for the OTT release. The well-known OTT platform is currently making headlines due to its show Indian Idol 3 Telugu, which has gained significant traction as the elimination episodes are currently underway. The movie centers on Lieutenant Daniel and Jenny, who travel to a remote natural birthing village center in anticipation of the arrival of their first child.
Recently, the renowned actress Rashmika Mandanna appeared on the show, which quickly became a topic of discussion. Additionally, prominent stars are expected to join the show shortly, contributing to its potential success. “Birthmark” is scheduled to premiere on Aha on August 8, 2024.
