Bad Newz, a romantic comedy starring Vicky Kaushal, concluded its initial week in theaters with a respectable box office performance. On Thursday, July 25th, the movie raked in an additional Rs 3 crore, contributing to its overall earnings.

Industry analysts stated that Bad Newz raked in a total of Rs 44.5 crore Net in just one week after hitting the theaters. On its first Monday, the film showed a good hold by gathering Rs 3.5 crore. Bad Newz has proven to be a more profitable venture compared to several recent Bollywood films, setting new records for its star, Vicky Kaushal. The film has become his highest-grossing opener to date. In comparison, his 2019 blockbuster Uri: The Surgical Strike had collected Rs 8.20 crore on its opening day. Furthermore, Bad Newz stands as Vicky’s second-best performer in terms of first-week collections, following closely behind Uri. Uri had concluded its first week with a total of Rs 70.94 crore. Anand Tiwari’s film outperformed several recent Bollywood releases, surpassing the earnings of Akshay Kumar’s Sarfira. In its initial week, the film accumulated Rs 18.75 crore at the box office. Chandu Champion, a sports drama starring Kartik Aaryan, concluded its first week with Rs 35.25 crore. Despite this, Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s Mr and Mrs Mahi fell short of the Rs 40 crore milestone, earning Rs 24.45 crore in its first week.

The movie, featuring Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk in the leading roles, has garnered a varied reaction from viewers. It depicts the tale of a woman who becomes pregnant with twins and subsequently learns that each of her babies has a different biological father. Despite the absence of any fresh Bollywood releases this week, Bad Newz will be up against competition from the Marvel film Deadpool and Wolverine in the urban market.
