After six weeks from its theatrical release, Ajay Devgn and Tabu’s romantic drama Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha has made its digital debut. However, there is a twist to the film’s OTT release. Like many recent films on Prime Video, AMKDT also made its entry on rental mode. The viewers will have to pay Rs. 349 to view the move on the popular digital platform. The film was released in theaters on August 2, 2024, and became a massive failure at the box office.
Earlier, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha was all set to be released in theaters on July 5, 2024. But to avoid the box office clash with a Pan-Indian biggie like Kalki 2898 AD, the makers postponed the film’s release to August. Upon its theatrical release, the film received mixed reviews from audiences and reviewers. The film’s openings were dismal and crashed at the box office after a relatively below par weekend and collected only 12 crore net at the domestic box office in its lifetime. The trade and industry circles were shocked with such a disastrous performance at the ticket windows.
Directed by Neeraj Pandey, the film has Ajay Devgn and Tabu in the lead roles, along with Shantanu Maheshwari and Saiee Manjrekar as their younger versions. Jimmy Shergill played a supporting role. Oscar award winner MM Keeravani composed the film’s music. Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha tells the story of Krishna and Vasudha, a love couple who got separated by the tragic twist given by fate. Krishna spends 23 years in jail after a shocking incident and wants to meet Vasudha once for a last time before he moves to another city after his return from jail.
