Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the highly anticipated DC superhero film, is ready for its official release on JioCinema’s OTT platform. After being available for rent on Prime Video for a few weeks, fans can now enjoy the full-fledged movie starting May 21, 2024. Serving as the 15th and final installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), this 2023 film continues the story from the previous Aquaman movie released in 2018. Produced by a collaboration between DC Studios, Atomic Monster, The Safran Company, and Domain Entertainment, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom promises to deliver an exciting cinematic experience.
In the James Wan-directed film Aquaman, the character of Arthur Curry is brought to life by the charismatic Jason Momoa. The movie also features a stellar ensemble cast, including Patrick Wilson as Orm and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, who unite to prevent Manta from endangering his loved ones and use the formidable Black Trident to raise the planet’s temperature. Meanwhile, Jason and Orm set off on a quest to discover the enigmatic seventh kingdom of the underwater realms. Notably, Nicole Kidman, Martin Short, Temuera Morrison, Dolph Lundgren, Randall Park, and Amber Heard all contribute their talents to the film in supporting roles. In Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Arthur Curry, the King of the Seven Seas, confronts his duties head-on, unleashing a dormant ancient power. He is compelled to form an uneasy alliance with a former foe and embark on a perilous mission to protect his loved ones, his realm, and the world from the irreversible destruction wrought by the malevolent forces he has witnessed in their entirety.
Jason Momoa plays the role of Arthur Curry/Aquaman, the king of Atlantis with extraordinary swimming abilities and the power to command sea creatures. Peter Safran, the producer, described Arthur as the ultimate outsider, emphasizing that the character feels disconnected from both the surface world and Atlantis, never truly belonging to either culture.
