AP CID fiels another case against Naidu

The Andhra Pradesh ACB on Monday filed yet another case against TDP chief and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu. This time it was on the liquor permissions given by the state government during 2014 and 2019.

This was the fourth case filed by the CID against Chandrababu Naidu. Naidu was arrested in the skill development scam case. Later, cases of Amaravati inner ring road alignment and fibergrid were also filed against Chandrababu Naidu.

The CID had informed the ACB court in Vijayawada about the fresh case. It had also requested the court to begin hearing on the case. The court admitted the case and is yet to take a call on the date of the hearing.

Meanwhile, Chandrababu Naidu had filed the bail petition in the skill development case, which was heard in the AP high court on Monday.

The court heard the arguments from both the sides with senior advocates Dammalapati Srinivas and Siddhartha Luthra arguing for Chandrababu Naidu and additional advocate general Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy arguing for the CID and the state government.

The advocates argued that Chandrababu Naidu’s health condition was deteriorating, and he needed bail immediately. They also told the court that Naidu underwent cataract surgery three months ago for one eye and needed the surgery to be done for the second eye. They told the court that Naidu is to be tested by his personal doctors for all the ailments.

Rejecting the argument, Sudhakar Reddy told the court that the doctors from the government general hospital in Rajamahendravaram were testing Naidu every day. He told the court that the doctors were on regular watch of Chandrababu Naidu and there was no need to give him bail for the medical tests. On hearing the arguments, the court reserved the judgement.
