Anwar 4K: Prithviraj Sukumaran’s action thriller to be re-released in theaters

Anwar, the 2010 released Malayalam action drama, is all set to be re-released in theaters. The film marked the first collaboration of Prithviraj Sukumara and director Amal Neerad, who was a cinematographer first. Made with a socially relevant concept, the film received rave reviews, and though not a blockbuster at the box office, it was an average fare for the makers. The film went on to get more positive responses after its digital release. According to the latest reports, Anwar is set for a re-release in 4K format during Prithviraj Sukumaran’s birthday weekend.

The producers of Anwar recently announced that they will re-release the film in theaters this month, and the release date is October 18th. The multi-talented actor Prithiviraj Sukumaran’s birthday falls on October 16, 2024, and there cannot be any better film for the fans to celebrate other than Anwar. The film is regarded as one of the most underrated films of Malayalam cinema. Unni R. Anwar worked as a co-writer for the film along with Amal Neeerad.

The film tells the story of Anwar, who fights against terrorism in his community. Prithivaraj Sukumaran played the titular role, while Mamata Mohandas, Prakash Raj, Sai Kumar, Nitya Menen, Geetha, Sai Kumar, Sempath Raj, Suddher Karamana, Salim Kumar, Vinay Fort, Shane Nigam, and others played the crucial roles. Gopi Sunder is the film’s muisc composer. Anwar is currently available on Prime Video and Disney+Hotstar.
