Ajay Devgn is set for a busy year ahead with six upcoming releases, starting with ‘Shaitaan’ on March 8. The movie, starring R Madhavan, Jyotika, and Janki Bodiwala, is a Hindi adaptation of the Gujarati film ‘Vash,’ where Janki will reprise her role. As the film releases in theaters in another few hours, the advance booking for ‘Shaitaan’ has achieved an impressive milestone. The film saw a 55 percent increase in bookings compared to Wednesday and surpassed the Rs 2 crore mark.
According to the Bollywood trade reports, the movie had a strong start on Friday, with over 3500 additional shows added in the last 24 hours. This brings the total number of shows to 9235. Currently, the film has sold nearly 88000 tickets, amounting to Rs 2.03 crore in revenue. The maximum bookings are from the Maharashtra and Delhi circuit. ‘Shaitaan’ belongs to the horror genre and has been praised by fans of the original as one of the scariest films they’ve seen. Its success may bring more attention to the often-overlooked horror genre in Hindi cinema. The film has recently received a U/A certificate.
In addition to Shaitaan, Ajay has upcoming films this year such as ‘Maidaan’, ‘Auron Mein Kaha Dum Tha’, ‘Raid 2’, ‘Singham Again’, and an unnamed project helmed by Abhishek Kapoor, featuring the debut of his nephew Aaman Devgan and Raveena Tandon’s daughter Rasha.
