Ahimsa: Available to Stream

Ahimsa, directed by Teja and featuring Abhiram Daggubati, the brother of Rana Daggubati, embarked on a tumultuous journey in the film industry. Prior to his debut as a hero, Abhiram was involved in production under the Suresh Productions banner. Ahimsa released on June 2, 2023, faced a setback at the Box Office despite the anticipation fueled by R.P. Patnaik’s impressive soundtrack. The aftermath saw Abhiram contemplating a potential shift away from acting to focus on business responsibilities within the family.

After a six-month hiatus, Ahimsa has found its way onto Amazon Prime, allowing audiences to dissect its strengths and weaknesses. The film’s narrative structure presents a dichotomy – while the first half manages to engage the audience, the latter half falters with pacing issues, leaving an unnecessary 30 to 40 minutes of runtime. Despite these challenges, Ahimsa might resonate with those nostalgic for Teja’s earlier works, offering fragments of satisfaction reminiscent of Nijam, Jayam, and Nuvvu Nenu.

In terms of performances, Geethika Tiwary shines as the female lead, delivering a commendable portrayal. On the other hand, Abhiram Daggubati, the brother of Rana Daggubati, showcases potential in his debut but his journey as an actor demands refinement across various facets. While Ahimsa may not have lived up to expectations, it serves as a crucial learning experience for Abhiram, laying the groundwork for potential growth and improvement in future endeavors.
