Aa Okkati Adakku Review

Story:

Gana (played by Allari Naresh), an elderly man, struggling to get married. He completes 50 marriage proposals, but sadly none works for him. He likes Siddi (played by Faria Abdullah), but she rejects his proposal. The rest of the film focuses on matrimonial scams and how Gana finds out about it and exposes the whole thing.

Analysis:

Malli Ankam is the director for Aa Okkati Adakku. He has selected a storyline that is relevant to present-day society and has a connection. A well-focused narrative could have provided an instant connect with the audience, but the film needed a proper mix of humor and drama to make that happen. Sadly, the director fails to get things right for most of the part. The first half has more humorous touch while the second half gets an emotional touch.

Performances:

Allari Naresh is perfectly suited for the role of an aged bachelor, but the way his character was written or presented lacks the engaging quality. There’s nothing to rave about his performance or character. He provides a persuasive element to a man who is struggling to get married. Faria Abdullah’s role is half-baked, even though her character has an interesting element.

Jamie Lever plays an important character of hero’s sister-in-law. Her character had the potential to be remarkable, but it fell flat because of the poor writing. Vennela Kishore performs his typical comedy friend role, while other actors, such as Viva Harsha and Shakalaka Shankar, failed to generate much laughter. Others like Anish Kuruvilla, Rajeev Kanakala, Ajay, Raghu Babu, Goparaju Ramana, Ariyana Glory, etc. were okay.

Positives:

As said above, the main plot of the film was good and Allari Naresh’s presence added some intrigue. A few jokes work here and there in the first half. The climax episode comes as a better one with an significant message being conveyed.

Negatives:

The film suffers because of the poor writing, which made the film uninteresting and uninspired. As said above, Jamie Lever, who appears in an important character, fails to impress. The scenes she has with Allari Naresh should be hilarious, but it never happens. This track has a lot of potential, but the director and writing team failed to handle it properly. The director failed to present the significant and innovative idea of blending matrimonial frauds with the protagonist’s marriage struggle. If the mixture of humor and drama doesn’t work, which resulted in the film being unexciting. Moreover, the film’s music is so bad that whenever a song comes, it adds to the overall boredom.
