Sarfira, the Hindi remake of Suriya and Sudha Kongara’s Soorarai Pottru, is all set to land in the digital field. Starring Akshay Kumar, the film was one of the anticipated films for Bollywood this year, and especially, the big failure of the star’s earlier film, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, made the fans pile hopes on this biopic. However, Sarfira did not get the desired result at the box office but was able to receive some rave reviews from the critics.
Akshay Kumar’s aviation drama will be made accessible for streaming on Disney+Hotstar. The streaming platform released a video where the Khiladi actor himself confirmed the OTT release of Sarfira. It’s official that the film will have its digital premiere on October 11, 2024, which means the film makes its OTT debut after almost a gap of three months from the theatrical release. Directed by Sudha Kongara, the film is based on the real-life events of G.R. Gopinath, founder of Indian low-cost airline Simplifly Deccan, as described in his memoir Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey.
Akshay Kumar plays Vir Mhatre, who turns from a pilot into a businessman. Radhikka Madan appeared as his wife, Rani Mhatre. Veteran actor Paresh Rawal played the cruel businessman named Paresh Goswami. Produced by Aruna Bhatia, Vikram Malhotra, Jyothika, and Suirya, Sarfira was released in theaters on July 12, 2024.
